Our labour warranty

3 years standard, with optional coverage up to 12 years in total. All labour warranties require annual maintenance by Jolly and transfer to the new owner if you sell your home.

What the warranty covers

Our warranty covers labour to repair a fault in our installation work, for the full term.

Parts and equipment are covered separately by the manufacturer's warranty, which depends on the brand.

Every system we install goes in under our Technical Safety BC licence, LIC-00001075. When something goes wrong, our technician confirms on site whether the problem is covered.

How long it lasts, by product

The standard term depends on what we installed. Most systems can be extended, as a paid upgrade, to up to 12 years in total.

Extending it to up to 12 years

The extended labour warranty is a paid upgrade that takes your labour coverage up to 12 years in total. You choose it when you accept your quote. The price depends on the system and is shown on your quote as its own line.

It's optional. If you plan to stay in your home for many years, it's usually worth adding. If you expect to move soon, the standard term may be all you need.

Yearly servicing keeps a warranty valid, but it doesn't make it longer. The extra years come only from choosing the extension. Hot water tanks carry a 1-year labour warranty that can't be extended.

Keeping it valid

Annual maintenance by Jolly Heating & Cooling is required to keep any labour warranty valid, whatever its term.

In practice that means a tune-up from us once a year. It applies to every term, from the 1-year tank warranty to an extended one. Our prices are on the repairs and tune-ups page.

It transfers when you sell

Labour warranties transfer to the new owner if you sell your home. The coverage stays with the system, so the buyer gets whatever is left of the term. The yearly servicing still applies, so the new owner books it with us, the same way you did.

What it doesn't cover

The warranty covers faults in our work. It doesn't cover:

  • Damage from natural disasters
  • Damage from power outages or power surges
  • Damage to your home caused by a fault, such as water damage. That goes through your home insurance

Warranty questions

Is the extended warranty included?

No. The standard term comes with your install: 3 years on most systems, longer on some, as the table above shows. The extended labour warranty is a paid upgrade that takes your labour coverage up to 12 years in total. You choose it when you accept your quote. The price depends on the system and is shown on your quote as its own line.

Does the warranty cover parts?

Our warranty covers labour. Parts and equipment are covered separately by the manufacturer's warranty, which depends on the brand.

What do I need to do to keep my warranty valid?

Annual maintenance by Jolly Heating & Cooling is required to keep any labour warranty valid, whatever its term. A tune-up from us once a year is that servicing.

Who decides whether a problem is covered?

The technician, once they've seen the problem on site. Our phone team can't rule on warranty questions over the phone, so mention your warranty when you book and the technician will confirm.

Can I extend the warranty on a hot water tank?

Hot water tanks carry a 1-year labour warranty that can't be extended.

What if a fault causes water damage in my home?

Our warranty covers the labour to fix the fault in our work. Damage to your home caused by that fault, such as water damage, isn't covered by our warranty and goes through your home insurance.
