What we fix

We work on the gas and electric equipment that heats, cools and makes hot water in your home, whoever put it in. If another company installed your system, or the company that did is gone, we can still help.

Venting and gas fitting

  • Dryer vents, bathroom fans and range hood ducting
  • New gas lines
  • Gas fireplace hookups

Repairs and tune-ups are done in English.

What we don't do

Some jobs sound close to ours but belong to a different trade. We'd rather tell you now than send a technician who can't help.

  • Plumbing of any kind
  • Duct cleaning
  • Barbecue or range cleaning
  • Smart-home setup beyond your thermostat
  • Steam boilers
  • Drainage
  • Electrical work beyond the equipment's own connection
  • Hot water tank repairs. We replace tanks but don't repair them, so if yours is leaking or has stopped heating, see hot water tank replacement.

Not sure which side of the line your problem falls on? Call us at (778) 800-8868 and ask. It costs nothing to find out.

Why a yearly tune-up matters

Many breakdowns start as a small problem that nobody saw. A yearly tune-up is when a technician cleans and checks your equipment, so a worn part or a dirty one gets caught while it's still a small job. In Metro Vancouver a heat pump heats through our long, mild winters and cools in summer, so it gets very little time off.

If we installed your system, there's a second reason. Annual maintenance by Jolly Heating & Cooling is required to keep any labour warranty valid, whatever its term. A yearly tune-up from us is that servicing. Here's how our labour warranty works.

A tune-up is one visit at the price above. You book it when it's due, and there's nothing else to sign up for.

What happens on a service visit

  1. Call us or book online

Tell us what kind of system it is and what it's doing. If we installed it and it's still under a Jolly labour warranty, mention that too. Our phone team doesn't decide warranty questions; the technician confirms on site whether a problem is covered.

  2. The technician finds the problem

The technician works out what's wrong and explains it to you in plain terms before going further.

  3. You approve anything that needs replacing

If anything needs replacing, we quote it to you before the work starts. Nothing is swapped out until you've said yes to the price.

  4. We fix it, or tune it up

On a repair, the technician finishes the job and checks the system runs properly. On a tune-up, they service the system and tell you about anything that's starting to wear.

Repair and tune-up questions

Will you work on a system you didn't install?

Yes. We repair and service furnaces, ducted heat pumps, ductless mini splits, dual fuel systems, boilers and combi boilers, tankless water heaters, gas fireplaces and thermostats, whoever installed them.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel time isn't billed. The first hour covers the technician getting to your home, working out what the problem is, and starting the repair. After that, time is billed in half-hour blocks at $79 each, plus GST.

What if a part needs replacing?

If anything needs replacing, we quote it to you before the work starts.

All service prices are plus GST. Parts and replacement equipment are extra and quoted before any work starts.

Is my repair covered by my Jolly warranty?

If we installed the system and the labour warranty is still valid, it may be. The technician confirms whether a problem is covered once they've seen it on site; our phone team can't rule on it over the phone. Our warranty covers labour, and parts are covered separately by the manufacturer.

Can I get two systems tuned up on the same visit?

Two complete systems tuned up on the same visit: each at its own price, and $50 off the lower-priced one. Add-ons aren't included.

Do you work on gas fireplaces?

Yes. We service and repair gas fireplaces, and we can run a new gas line and hook up a fireplace.

Need a repair or a tune-up?

Call us Sunday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed Saturday). If it's easier, send us a message and we'll call you back.
