Tankless water heaters
Hot water that doesn't run out, from a unit on the wall instead of a tank on the floor. Most installs are done in a day.

Is tankless right for your home?
- You run out of hot waterA tankless unit heats water as it flows, so back-to-back showers don't empty it.
- You want the floor space backIt mounts on the wall, freeing the space your tank takes up.
- Your tank is ageing and you have time to planA switch from a tank can involve gas line and venting changes, which are easier to plan than to rush.
Tank failed today? A like-for-like tank replacement is usually the faster way back to hot water.
How a tankless water heater works
A tankless water heater has no stored water. When you open a hot tap, water flows through a heat exchanger and a gas burner heats it on the way through. When you close the tap, it stops, so there's no tank of water losing heat between uses. We install Rinnai tankless water heaters.
Because it heats on demand, a tankless unit burns more gas at once than a tank does. Your gas line has to be large enough to supply it, and the venting runs differently from a tank's. We check both at the estimate.

What our customers say
Rated 5 out of 5
Fantastic experience and HIGHLY recommend. We also had a slight crack in a glass on gas heater which we discovered was releasing carbon monoxide and thanks to the technician he took care of it.

Questions we get asked
Will a tankless water heater ever run out of hot water?
Not the way a tank does, because it heats water as it flows. What it has is a limit on flow: open enough hot taps at once and each one gets less hot. We size the unit to how your household uses hot water so that doesn't happen in normal use.
Can I switch from a tank to tankless?
Usually, yes. We check the gas line size, the venting route and where the unit will mount. If your tank has failed and you need hot water today, a like-for-like tank is usually quicker. Tankless is easier as a planned switch.
Is there a rebate for a tankless water heater?
No. In BC, the CleanBC water heater rebate is for heat pump water heaters, not gas units like tankless. A heat pump water heater is the one water heater we install that qualifies, and it's covered on our hot water tanks page.
Rebate amounts are subject to eligibility and program funding. We'll confirm what you qualify for during your free estimate.
Does a tankless water heater need maintenance?
Yes. Minerals in the water build up inside the heat exchanger over time, so it needs descaling. We can descale it at the annual tune-up, which is also what keeps your labour warranty valid.
Do you service tankless water heaters you didn't install?
Yes. We service and repair tankless water heaters whether or not we installed them. Our repairs and tune-ups page has the rates.
