高貴林對熱泵（Heat Pump）的擺放位置及暖爐（Furnace）排氣口的方向，有自己的分區規定，而山坡上地勢較高的房屋，在建築規範中屬於較冷的氣候區。
高貴林對設備位置的規定
自 2019 年 1 月起，高貴林的分區附例（Zoning Bylaw）對室外冷暖設備設有專門規定。市政府的設備擺放指南指出，在獨立屋，熱泵或冷氣機的位置須比您所屬分區規定的內側退縮線（Interior Side Setback）再向內至少 1.0 米；市政府傾向把設備放在後院正中或前院，並靠近房屋。
這些規定也涵蓋暖爐和鍋爐（Boiler）的排氣口。中央暖氣設備的廢氣必須排向前院、後院、臨街側院或經屋頂排出，絕不可排向與鄰居相鄰的側院。我們在高貴林更換暖爐時，排氣路線從一開始就是規劃的一部分，而不是事後才考慮。
山坡房屋與較冷的氣候區
卑詩省建築規範（BC Building Code）按每年所需的暖氣量，把各地劃分為不同的氣候區（Climate Zone）。高貴林的建築規範指南把海拔 250 米以上的地區劃入第 5 區而非第 4 區，比市內其他地方冷一級。
如您的房屋位於山上，我們會按此計算系統容量。如您打算改用全電力暖氣，這也是認真考慮寒冷氣候熱泵（Cold-Climate Heat Pump）的理由：它在 -15°C 時仍能保持十足供暖能力，而一般熱泵只剩約 70%。
