溫哥華（Vancouver）住宅暖氣及冷氣
溫哥華自行簽發許可證（Permit），對熱泵（Heat Pump）的擺放位置也有自己的規定。這兩方面我們每星期都在處理，您不必自己研究。
Vancouver Special 房屋
溫哥華有一種獨有的房屋類型。大約 1965 年至 1985 年間，全市興建了數以千計的 Vancouver Special：兩層高，沒有真正的地庫，主層位於地面或略低於地面，設有睡房和設備房，客廳和廚房則在樓上。
這種格局決定了暖氣方案的重點。設備放在樓下，但您日常大部分時間都在樓上，所以上門估價時要考慮的，是室內設備放在哪裡，以及暖氣和冷氣如何平均送到樓上。如現有風管（Ducts）狀況良好，中央熱泵（Central Heat Pump）可以沿用；無風管分體式冷暖機（Ductless Mini Split）則適合使用電熱板（Electric Baseboard）或熱水暖氣系統的房屋。
溫哥華的許可證
卑詩省大多數城市都把煤氣及電力許可證交由省級安全監管機構 Technical Safety BC 負責。溫哥華是少數自行簽發的城市之一。
在獨立屋安裝熱泵，市政府的熱泵公告要求申領機械許可證（Mechanical Permit）及電力許可證，而電力許可證須附上電力負荷計算。如更換或拆除煤氣暖爐（Furnace）或鍋爐（Boiler），還要加上煤氣許可證。每項工程的許可證都由我們申領。
室外機可以放在哪裡
同一份公告也訂明了擺放規定。室外機不可設於距離地界 90 厘米以內，不可阻擋通道、泊車位或出租套房（Suite）入口，冷凝水亦不可排到通道上。每個院子只可安裝一部室外機，而每部熱泵運作時都必須符合市政府的噪音管制附例（Noise Control By-law）。
